Screen the USS Chosin while on-station conducting
TBMD ops.
Whle tensions mount along the North/South
Korean border at the 38th parallel, satellites
have discovered the North Koreans positioning ballistic missile
launchers in the area off Kimch'ack.
From this position, the ballistic missiles are a direct threat
to Japan and Allied staging areas should reinforcement of Korea
become necessary.
An Aegis cruiser, the
USS
Chosin (CG-65), has been positioned
off of Kimch’ack conducting TBMD operations – Theater
Ballistic Missile Defense. The ballistic missiles have a higher
probability of destruction if they are engaged during their
boost phase. However, this requires that the cruiser be stationed
relatively close to the launch point.
Your mission is to help provide ASW
and ASUW
protection to the cruiser. The naval facilities at Kimch’ack
support a large number of Korean midget
submarines and missile
patrol boats. You
must destroy
all NK units. The cruiser’s surface search radar is OOC
– out-of-commission. She is unable to leave station because
of the importance of the TBMD mission.
