Since Sonalysts gave us the .J3D exporter before
can we have .J3D importer??????
I don't think there is any tech problem, Only concern is needed---the concern from Sonalysts
Anyone in the Sonalysts even look around this forum nowadays??? |

.j3d format is a proprietary format in which you will not get Sonalysts or Microsoft to give you an importing tool. Most of their original content is stored in .j3d format, so that's not gonna happen.
3D modelling & texturing contained in original FC is an issue of copyright protections, they are protecting the bread & butter in which keeps their business running. _________________

No offense, but the original 3D model in FC or SC or DW, suck!!!!
At least I have no attention to import those original 3D model
My understanding is : Sonalysts own the J3D file copyright and technology exclusivly, they released J3D exporter years ago. So I assumed they can also release the J3D importer, you know, for all the fans
I have to bring this out: because this so call "bread & butter" ----shortsighted, just look around this forum, how many person atually hang around here????--------without fans, I'm not sure how many years could Sonalysts survive? no matter how many military contract it can get |

Oh to the contrary ... I think even if DW was a sweeping success it could in no way compete with the money Sonalysts makes of its military contracts ... same would go for any other game they have produced (given that they use a version of it for a military contract). So in my eyes, if Sonalysts had to decide between the commercial customers and the military contracts it would prolly be a nobrainer ... for the military contracts.
Face it, from 688 onward the games have always only been a sideshow for Sonalysts ... try checking out their website and you see how big Sonalysts actually is and what they mainly do.
I'm just another customer like you and sure would see some more toys to play with, but I realize that it certainly doesnt help to come in screaming and putting down demands. _________________

I also agree with Oneshot, you can't start shouting and demanding for content that is the key to a sim development company's income. It doesn't help your case and it brings a negative, not positive impact on the modern naval sim community.
Make your case with strong evidence and persuasive writing, not flame infested statements that creates conflict here. _________________

Well said, both Havoc and Oneshot. I think common courtesy and constructive criticism is a lost art these days. Everybody has their DEMANDS and their list of complaints readily available. And they sure aren't shy about them. That's the way it is in alot of gaming forums unfortunately. I myself would love to see more content from Sonalysts. But I can see that their main focus is their government/military clients. I'm still crossing my fingers for something new in the future.
As Sonalysts is the only active game-maker of modern day naval sims, we should try to grow enthusiasm for their products rather than squashing them with flame posts intended for conflict. |

Theoretically, the 3 guys above are right
Technically, you guys are wrong
Tell you what, if you don't bake, there is no bread,
if you don't cut, there is no wood,
if you don't kill, there is no meat for your meal
No revolution, No democracy

Of course kicking and screaming will get you nothing as well. It's simply a waste of your time. The developer of these games (Sonalysts)will release future content if they have the means from what I understand. We simply have no choice but to wait for that to happen. All the whining in the world will make no difference at all. That's where you're wrong. |
